The WUPJ-LA closes 2012 presenting to its affiliated and partners entities, collaborators and the international Jewish community with a report of activities conducted during the year. The text includes a detailed list of the actions that took place with the objective of marking and expanding the presence of the WUPJ in Latin America. This was all achieved thanks to the effort and dedication of professionals, lay leaders and volunteers and thanks to the support of sponsors and of the Yad B'Yad Task Force.

 WUPJ 36th International Convention Connections 2013 1st 5th May 2013/Jerusalem


Connections 2013 - "Being the Difference" invites you to learn, explore, question, get involved and be inspired together with our WUPJ family from across the globe. We will focus on how to be a righteous Progressive Jew in the 21st Century and we will do this by

• Tikkun Hanefesh – Repairing the soul
• Tikkun Atzmi – Repairing myself
• Tikkun Hahevra – Repairing Society
• Tikkun Israel – Repairing Israel
• Tikkun Olam – Repairing the World

We have the confirmed presence of some of the most exciting and captivating Jewish leaders such as:

Irwin Cotler
Member of the Canadian Parliament, professor emeritus of McGill University and ex-Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada. He has important work in the areas of freedom of expression, freedom of religion, rights of minorities and justice for war crimes.

Ruth W. Messinger
President of the American Jewish World Service (AJWS), organization that supports
the human rights of people who are marginalized throughout the world.

David Grossman
Israeli author with work translated into over 30 languages. Wrote eight internationally acclaimed novels as well as news articles and literary and theatrical works for the
young public.

Rabino Rick Jacobs
President of Union for Reform Judaism.

Once more, the WUPJ international convention will also promote special moments through religious services and presentations with talented musicians and singers as special guests.

 Celebration of Hanukkah

The Feast of Lights was celebrated in several communities, with the lighting of candles of hanukkiah. The ceremonies were an opportunity to meet people who, in an atmosphere of friendship, sang together, danced and celebrated the remembrance of the miracle of Hanukkah. Check out the photos:
